Operations Manager NTC

Intro

Norwegian Travel Company is one of the leading tour operators in Norway. Our goal is to set the standard for experience-based tourism in Norway, and our Tromsø office is now looking for an operations manager to be part of this journey.

Operations Manager – Responsibilities

You will be responsible for our operational management, and a natural link and partner between the administration at company level and the subsidiaries at an operational level. You will also be the point of contact for finance, sales, administration and HR for our companies.

You will be involved in all parts of our operations in the company, but you’ll mainly be focusing on our activities in Tromsø.

Your tasks are mainly related to the operational part, but also within the strategic part. An important task will be to find opportunities and extract synergies across the teams. You will also be working on mapping and developing procedures and routines for efficient operations and implementation.

You will be a central piece in our organisation and a key person for our further development and growth.This means that the standards of your business and personal qualities are set high. As the Operations Manager you will report directly to our CEO.

Who are you?

For starters you have a very good understanding and knowledge of operations. You also have in-depth knowledge of the industry and know how it works. Your background is probably from tourism, but perhaps also in management, hospitality or events.

You are able to see how the various components of the operation are connected, and you always look for ways to do things efficiently and rationally. Of course, you can pick things apart, analyse them, and put them back together in a better way.

You have a good basic business understanding, a flair for development, and understand the connections between good logistics and profitability. It is also natural for you to work with budgets, business plans and business development.

As the Operations Manager, you will often be in contact with our subsidiaries, and people from all over the world. It is therefore important that you have the ability to understand and make yourself understood. This is where your excellent interpersonal qualities comes in.

Experience

  • You have years of experience in tourism (management, sales or operational)
  • You have a very good operational understanding
  • You have in-depth experience in either leading, organising or coordinating operational work
  • Relevant education (relevant operational experience can compensate for lack of education)

  • Good language skills, oral and written, in Norwegian and English
