Operations Manager Å Rorbuer

Intro

Norwegian Travel Company is one of the leading tour operators in Norway. Our goal is to set the standard for experience-based tourism in Norway, and our Tromsø office is now looking for a new person to be part of that journey.

We are looking for someone who wants to manage one of our main attractions in Lofoten; Å Rorbuer. Located in a charming fishing village, this accommodation houses 130 beds, a large restaurant, and a wide range of activities and experiences.

Operations Manager – Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the company. You will work within the set goals, but at the same time you have great freedom and responsibility regarding how you think we can best operate and achieve good results.

With our ambition to be the leading activity center in Lofoten, you will work closely with various local communities in the area, and build a strong local network, which in turn helps us in the further development of this destination.

The high season is in the summer, with a very high level of activity, and it places high demands on your endurance, logistics and operational capabilities, while at the same time ensuring that guests and staff have a fantastic experience.

The position will have budget, profit, operational and personnel responsibilities, and will reports to the company management.

Who are you?

You are deeply passionate about tourism and hospitality. You know what it takes for the operation to run smoothly, and for our guests to enjoy their stay. At the same time, you are a good judge of character and know how to put together good teams that work well and efficiently.

You are probably a well-rounded person who knows how most things are connected, but you don’t need to know everything yourself. You will receive a lot of help and support from our operations department in Tromsø.

You are a good host and know how to communicate with all types of guests from near and far, in Norwegian and English. You also have a good flair for operational work, and you will be an important piece when it comes to our ambition of providing a good experience for our customers and guests.

The main season is from Easter to October, but we have great faith that you will be able to create activity and work the rest of the year as well.

Experience

  • You have relevant experience in our industry, preferably in tourism, hotels, hospitality or restaurants.
  • You are an experienced leader and used to operational work
  • You have been responsible for budgets and results in the past
  • You have good experience with IT systems, and can work with spreadsheets
  • Relevant higher education is desired, but not an absolute requirement
